I am the father of three people, each of them remarkable and amazing to me.
As they are all full sized, and in the challenging stage of defining themselves on their own terms, I will not go into much detail here, other than to say that all three of them bring me the greatest pleasure and greatest anxiety. I suppose that goes with being a parent.
My children all share the same mother, and yet between the two of us, we have neither their range, nor uniqueness. All my children exhibit a focus and capability that I envy. Thank goodness I have experience in life or I would have had to surrender to their rebellion well before their teenage years.
