Points along the way

Here are some reference points available on the internet of various aspects-
Here is the first internet site I built for my post production consulting company, which began before the age of the internet, and revived when I sold my equipment rental business.
“The Picture Works” was named because that’s what is said when the show is ‘working’ or the audience experience is considered satisfactory.

The rental services company I founded in between, to serve the early non linear feature film editing market- Electric Picture Solutions – evolved into a full services company that returned to the address where I started it, in 1994, in Cahuenga Pass in what was then the Unitel Building.

Later when I transitioned into producing industrials and documentaries, I won a NOAA contract and made my favorite failure. Proof Or Propaganda. A cowboy initiative during the Bush administration, government funds were used to tell about how addressing climate change through developing sustainability is the greatest opportunity since the industrial revolution, and answer a lot of basic questions about climate in lay language.
Turns out that isn’t what people wanted to hear- even though they were depressed by “An Inconvenient Truth” which had come out while I was in production.
The site that was built to promote and support the outreach has some samples and a now defunct sales function(did I mention that it was a failure?). I learned a lot about humans, their political organizations and what influences behavior is almost always way smaller than the behavior’s impacts.

I also can point to an existing product that was a labor of love and creative in more ways than one. This DVD was created with no budget and filmed on a location known to charge $10K a day for photography use. Inspired by Chantal’s fervor to show people how the Lotusland gardens would be a great place to practice yoga, everyone with the power to say ‘no’ instead said ‘yes’.

Now you can see my efforts in the healing arts at The Genius of Flexiblity where we use movement, specifically eccentric muscle movement, to change people’s tissue, and experience.

While I continue to pursue media production opportunities, I do so from the position that everyone involved will get well (especially me!) in the process. No more ‘suffering’ for art or commerce.
